Welcome to the MHSDMU Blog
The work of MHSDMU centres around the availability ,accountability and use of medicines and health care. Related to this core area are the following three strategic objectives: Better health: helping people stay healthy and able to access the best possible healthcare when they need it. Better systems: supporting the performance of the healthcare system to improve health service delivery. Better value: delivering affordable, efficient and sustainable services; contributing to the wider economy and the nation.
The Medicines and Health Service Delivery Monitoring Unit (MHSDMU) of State House was established in September 2009 as a strategic response to existing challenges and resulting poor service delivery in Uganda’s health care system. It is under State House but has an autonomous mandate in regard to its broad remit which is to improve the health outcomes for population. The core element of MHSDMU’s operations is to improve the surveillance of medicines and service delivery as they directly impact on population health.
